| Computer says no… |
Ever since I can remember I was constantly reminded to turn off the lights, not to leave the computer on, not to waste paper. At the time I just thought it was my dad nagging me to save money, but it wasn’t until I moved out, had my own bills to pay and started to see the effect of unnecessary waste on society, that I realised my dad wasn’t just nagging, he was actually trying to doing his bit for the community, not just his bank balance. The simple task of flicking the light switch off and using the other side of the paper have stuck with me and I’m glad for it.
So when briefed by Sustainability at Work to create downloadable posters for workplaces to remind staff to think before they waste, it was something I could relate to.
We knew we had the opportunity to create some really eye-catching creative with some powerful copy, but we were really keen to avoid making people feel guilty, there’s enough advertising out there making us feel like we’re not doing enough for the planet, without us adding to the pile. So we wanted our message to be simple. Everyone can make a difference.
